Homemade Orange Chicken

What you need

clove garlic clove

tbsp fresh ginger
cup cornstarch

cup soy sauce

tbsp cooking oil

cup brown sugar

tsp salt

tsp red pepper flake
Instructions
1. Cut chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. 2. In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with an egg and salt. Mix well. 3. Add cornstarch to the chicken and toss until each piece is coated. 4. Dredge the coated chicken pieces in a separate bowl of cornstarch for a second coating. 5. Heat oil in a pot and deep-fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through. 6. Remove the cooked chicken and place it on a wire rack to drain. 7. To make the sauce, zest and juice an orange. 8. In a pan, heat a small amount of oil. Sauté minced ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. 9. Add the orange zest to the pan and cook briefly. 10. Pour in the orange juice, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Stir and bring to a simmer. 11. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly. 12. Add the fried chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. 13. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.
