1. Remove sausage casings and roughly chop the sausage. 2. Mince garlic cloves. 3. In a large pan, combine sausage, olive oil, black pepper, minced garlic, and diced onion. 4. Cook over medium heat until the sausage is browned and onions are translucent. 5. Add penne pasta to boiling water and cook al dente according to package directions. 6. Pour milk into the pan with the cooked sausage. Simmer over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes or until the milk has reduced slightly and starts to thicken. 7. Add the drained pasta to the pan and toss it with the sausage sauce. Add half of the grated parmesan and stir to combine. 8. Serve hot, topped with extra parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper.
